Climbing a Mountain

Literally and figuratively.

This past weekend we drove up to Blue Mountain resort, which I didn’t even know existed until this year. But it was really cool! It’s set up like a little town, with shops and roads made of rock, and of course; the mountains. The little rocky roads reminded me of Ireland so I liked it a lot, of course.

We ended up riding a roller coaster down the mountain which was really cool, and then we ended up hiking up the mountain. So that’s two mountains under my belt in a lifetime, and at this point I just need to find one more to make it 3! The trail up seemed to last forever and ever and ever, and we decided to climb it spontaneously, so we had no water and no proper hiking clothes, but we made it to the top! Then we got a free gondola ride down the mountain, and it was a bit wild to see the mountain we had just scaled. We then went into town for dinner and drove around a bit.

When we got back to the resort we ended up waiting over an hour for new room keys so we could get into the hot tub. It made me think about whether this employee was earning his salary, making customers wait over an hour for their request to be filled. He took so long that we only had the hot tub to ourselves for maybe 10 mins before a group of (you guessed it) 17-18 year-old people decided to jump in and get nice and loud. Would we have been able to have the hot tub to ourselves if that man had not taken over an hour? Yea, for sure.

Now it’s Tuesday morning and back to reality, and my figurative mountain, which is so much harder to climb than the actual mountain. This week is not as busy, other than a test Friday. Next week I have a test Tuesday, both my high school exams Tuesday, a test the Wednesday, and a test the Friday. The week after that I start working every free second I have; then midterms start and don’t end until mid-July. I feel like I’m at the bottom of a huge mountain and I have to start climbing, not like I have a choice anyway.

I’m also not sure if I’m going to keep my makeup account on Instagram for much longer, but that’s a whole other story.

Until next time!
